Before school started, we took a road trip to Blue Ridge, Georgia. It was an episode of "Who let the dogs out" as we were confined in the house for so long. Well, that was a bit of exaggeration, but indeed, we did not go anywhere besides the morning bike rides and evening jogs. We loved road trips. We never felt bored or restricted. We never asked: "Are we there yet?" Our mom is an expert at planning and packing for these trips. We were always comfortable in our car and had everything we need within reach. No other traveling way would allow us to see that many states, pass through that many stateliness and had an opportunity to breathe the beauty of our land.

Blue Ridge was another wonder of its own. Our beautiful mountain cabin gave us the feeling of living in the woods. Calm. Peaceful. Serenity. We left behind the craziness of the pandemic and the uncertainty of a different school year approaching. We did some hiking, white water rafting, and visited the many hundred acres of Mercier Orchards.

We stopped at the Coke Museum in Atlanta on our way back and got to learn a piece of history about the "secret recipe," which is still locked up in a bank safe here in Atlanta. We do not drink soft drinks, but that day, we got to taste so many coke flavors from different parts of the world.

We came back refreshed and had a better appreciation for the calm before the storm.
